Congratulations go to Nick Williams, 24, on chalking up his 100th winner between the flags when winning the restricted race on Musique En Tete at the Llangeinor Hunt Steeplechases. The favourite Longwood Law, partnered by leading rider John Mathias, had the race won until sadly breaking a fetlock approaching the final fence.
French-bred Musique En Tete is trained by Jonathan Tudor whose wife Judith is the hon secretary. Owned by The Bird,White,Prior Group, Musique En Tete was freely available at 8-1 with the satchel men. Nick, younger brother of National Hunt jockey Christian, is assistant trainer to Evan Williams and he rode his first point-to-point winner eight years ago on Rimpton Boy at Larkhill.
He
has also ridden 45 winners under rules and in 2004 won the Horse
& Hound Cup at Stratford on Torduff
Express. On another famous occasion, he rode a hat-trick at the Cheltenham
Hunters' evening meeting.
John Mathias had an easy in the mixed open race on David Evans's game mare Makena who was winning for the fourth time this season.

David,
17, took the members' on Norman Jones's Silver Story
which won by 20 lengths from Farnogue. His
older brother Tom, having his first ride as
a conditional jockey at Uttoxeter, was successful on Liz's
Dream.
Nick Williams & Musique En Tete
Carl Pyne's Pelennor made all under Paul Tolman, 23, in the confined and in doing so landed a gamble being backed 6-1 to 5-2.
Gift
horse Blazing Signet, partnered by Kevin O'Keefe,
was a four lengths winner
of the young horse maiden and the quirky Rash Oak,
ridden by evergreen Dai Jones, came late on the
scene to pinch the aged maiden race for Carmarthen owner/trainer
Paul Thomas.
